Portal terms & access
Last updated: August 2026
These terms govern access to and use of the CALFAB Client Portal (the "Portal"), a password-protected area provided to current clients in connection with their projects. By accessing or using the Portal, you agree to these terms. They are in addition to, and do not replace, the website Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
Authorized access only
The Portal is for clients to whom CALFAB has issued access credentials. You may use the Portal only to access your own project materials. Do not access, or attempt to access, any account, area, or materials that are not your own. Unauthorized access is prohibited.
Your account and credentials
You are responsible for keeping your username and password confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Do not share your credentials. If you believe your credentials have been lost, or that someone has accessed your account without authorization, notify CALFAB promptly so access can be reset.
Two-factor authentication
CALFAB offers optional two-factor authentication (2FA) for Portal accounts. If you would like it, you can request it and set it up using an authenticator app of your choice. When 2FA is enabled, signing in requires both your password and a time-based code from your app. You are responsible for keeping your authenticator device and any backup codes secure. If you lose access to your authenticator, contact CALFAB so we can verify your identity and restore access. Two-factor authentication is offered in addition to, and does not replace, keeping your password confidential.
Documents are for reference; the signed agreement controls
Documents made available through the Portal, such as proposals, estimates, drawings, and invoices, are provided for your convenience and reference in connection with your project. Nothing posted in the Portal is an offer, and making a document available does not, by itself, create, modify, or waive any term of any contract. The pricing, scope, schedule, warranties, and all other terms of any project are set out solely in the separate written agreement signed by you and CALFAB, which governs the relationship between us. If anything in the Portal appears to conflict with that signed agreement, the signed agreement controls.
Payments
Where an invoice offers an online payment option, payment is processed by a third-party provider (Intuit, through QuickBooks) under that provider's own terms and privacy practices. CALFAB does not receive or store your card or bank-account details. Amounts due and payment terms are governed by the applicable invoice and your signed agreement, not by the Portal.
Security
CALFAB uses reasonable measures to protect the Portal and its contents. However, no website, and no method of transmitting or storing information, is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You access and download materials from the Portal at your own discretion, and you are responsible for safeguarding any materials you download.
Availability, changes, and retention
The Portal is provided "as is" and may be unavailable from time to time. We may add, change, or remove documents, suspend or end access, or discontinue the Portal, at any time and without notice. Documents are retained only for as long as we consider necessary for the project or our records, and may be removed after a project is complete. Please keep your own copies of any documents you need.
Confidentiality and intellectual property
Materials in the Portal are confidential and are the property of CALFAB, or are used with permission, and are protected by law. You may use them only in connection with your own project. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or use them (including to design, quote, fabricate, source, or compete) without our prior written permission.
Acceptable use
You agree not to attempt to breach or circumvent the Portal's security, access data that is not yours, upload or transmit malicious code, or otherwise interfere with the operation of the Portal.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute relating to the Portal will be handled in the state or federal courts located in California.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Portal after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
